Classical Educators - both at home or in the classroom - enjoy studying to improve their teaching skills. Certified teachers need to keep up with their CE credits. Parents want to teach themselves to be better home educators. Any adult is welcome to become a Classical Conversations Certified Instructor. Once you are ready to partner with Classical Conversations, come back to this site and register. Certification Procedure: 1. Purchase first course registration and any first course materials you don't already own. 2. At home, study the assignments described in the welcome packet you will receive by email. Plan about 3 months to complete. 3. Repeat for courses 2,3, and 4. You may study any course in any order. 4. When you register for your fourth course, be sure to also register for a Certification Cohort weekend. A Certification Cohort is a small group of adults who have been studying the same material and are ready to present their final assignments. A Cohort meets with a trained Certifier to discuss the assignments and complete the certification process. Think of it as a medieval feast of ideas. 5. The Cohorts are limited to 10 adults. You may not register for a Cohort until you have paid for all four courses. Payment: You may not attend a Cohort until all four courses are paid for ($800 total). If you want to choose a Cohort early because a preferred weekend is filling up, you may purchase all four courses, yet complete the assignments one course at a time. Value: Accountability. You could study this material on your own, but will you? The course tuition actually covers the expenses for the Cohort weekend including room, board, and Certified Instructor's time. You will have to pay for travel expenses.
