GeographySome headings have been changed to better reflect the memory work included in that week. Duplicate locations have been deleted and replaced with locations more closely related to that week’s geography.Updated color key maps and blank black-line masters have been added for a complete geography practice set.HistoryNo significant changes. We have reworded a small number of history songs to address grammar issues and to increase clarity.LatinCycle 2—The memory work consists of Latin verb endings only, rather than learning the verb endings attached to a word. This is consistent with the way the noun endings are presented in Cycle 1. This change is also designed to help students better differentiate between the Latin verb stems and endings when they study Latin in Challenge. The previous memory work is still included in this guide for those who would rather continue with the previous method.MathSome of the measurements have been combined in order to add other measurements e.g., liquid, metric, and tablespoon/teaspoon.ScienceNo significant changes. NEW—The Classical Acts & Facts Science Card numbers have been added to the corresponding science memory work.English GrammarA small number of changes were made in order to make the English grammar memory work consistent with the Essentials of the English Language (EEL) guide.TimelineNEW—Classical Conversations Classical Acts & Facts History TIMELINE is included in the text of the 4th edition. Summary pages have been included that integrate the new Classical Acts & Facts History Cards with the history sentences so that parents can use the cards to give a complete history lesson. With the switch from Veritas to Classical Conversations TImeline cards, students will now memorize seven cards per week instead of the eight with the Veritas timeline.AppendixThe orchestra section includes expanded information about the periods of music that we study—Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Modern. In addition, the notes under each composer define types of pieces (such as a sonata) and explain any unique musical instruments used in the piece (such as the kettle drum).Updated maps and black-line masters are included. If I own the 3rd edition Foundations Guide, am I required to buy the 4th edition? No, 3rd edition will still be a valuable asset. The specific changes to the guide will be posted on CC Portal and CC Connected. The new Classical Acts & Facts History Card timeline will not be included in the changes document. Will there be new audio and MWR CD for 4th edition?Yes, all complementary products will reflect the changes of the 4th edition.NEW—a timeline song will be available to aid in the memorization of the CC timeline, plus a new song for Ephesians 6 of Cycle 2.
